Welcome to 1st Castlerock Scout Group
are a Scout Group based in the Peter Thompson Hall in Castlerock,
County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The Scout Group consisting of a
Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack, a Scout Troop and an Explorer section. This
means that we are able to cater for children in our area from ages 6 -
18 and adults of all ages. Castlerock is on the North Coast of Northern
Ireland and it is close to many beautiful beaches, historical sites and
areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Scouts were formed in 1907 and the first Scout meeting in Castlerock
was in 1918.
The Scout Group formed its first Cub Pack in 1928.
The first Venture Scouts met in 1971.
The first Beaver Colony met in 1976.
the years the Explorers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers have met in Church
halls, huts, and homes until they finally moved into their current home
the Peter Thompson Hall in 1979.
The current Scout Group caters for over 100 children and is led by 30 adult leaders, helpers and support staff.
